Nevada governor appoints Savage CIO

Nevada's Gov. Kenny Guinn appointed Terry Savage CIO yesterday. Savage joined Nevada's IT Department in January 2000 as deputy director for technical operations. Guinn appointed Savage director of the department in August 2000.

As CIO, Savage is responsible for policies and oversight of the technology that processes electronic information for the state. He also serves as chairman of the Nevada IT Operations Committee, a group of eight teams that focus on planning, security, e-government, standards, project oversight, work force, justice integration and content management.
