Navy awards $597 million engineering pact to SAIC

The Navy's Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command will get engineering and integration support under a $597 million contract awarded yesterday to a team of contractors led by Science Applications International Corp.

Under the cost-plus-fixed-fee task order, SAIC will provide system engineering, design, and integration, configuration control, preinstallation testing and information security to SPAWAR activities both afloat and ashore.

The government awarded the five-year Millennia contract through the General Services Administration's Federal Systems Integration and Management Center.

The center offers support for planning, developing, acquiring and managing large-scale systems integration and development projects, GSA said.

The SAIC-led team consists of 19 large businesses and 18 small businesses.
