Evans takes the CIO reins at Energy

Karen S. Evans is the new CIO at the Energy Department. She succeeds acting CIO Linda Y. Cureton.

Before joining the department, Evans was director of the IRM Division in the Justice Department's Office of Justice Programs. In that job, she implemented an online grants management program, streamlined processing of benefit claims for families of public safety officers after the Sept.11 attacks, and managed various Justice programs.

During her 20 years of federal service, Evans also has worked for the National Park Service, Office of Personnel Management and Agriculture Department.
