NASA Ames adopts forms software

NASA Ames Research Center at Moffett Field, Calif., has negotiated an enterprise license for Informed, an electronic forms application from Shana Corp.

'NASA Ames has been very pleased with Shana's efforts to keep their product technologically current and focused on our requirements,' said Bob Brummett, manager of the Programs and Projects Office of NASA Ames' Applied Information Technology Division. 'They are helping us significantly to reduce overall costs of forms management and administration.'

NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston and the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral, Fla., already use Informed. The agency has adopted the software as a technical standard and major contractors such as Boeing Corp. also use it, according to the Edmonton, Alberta, company.

The forms software uses Extensible Markup Language and supports transactions with various databases and other applications.
