Transportation loses an IT program manager

Rudy G. Sturgill, a 15-year IT veteran at the Transportation Department, is leaving his post as director of the Value-Added Niche IT Services Program.

He is joining InfoPro Inc. as vice president for business development. The Silver Spring, Md., company provides network and software support services.

Sturgill, who has more than 30 years of experience in IT in both government and industry, joined Transportation in 1987. He has held several senior positions, including division chief of IT services at the Transportation Computer Center and manager of IT and services at the Transportation Administrative Service Center.

Sturgill also worked previously at the Government Printing Office, where he implemented major departmentwide systems.

Transportation has not named his replacement.
