Bob Dickson leaves State for private sector

Robert B. 'Bob' Dickson has left his job as executive director of the State Department's Bureau of Administration to join Acquisition Solutions Inc. of Chantilly, Va.

Dickson, who had been in charge of the bureau since 1997, oversaw a range of administrative activities, including IT. He was known for his leadership in promoting public-private partnerships.

Before being named executive director, he was director of State's Office of Acquisition. He also worked in acquisition for the Defense Logistics Agency, the Agriculture Department's Food and Nutrition Service and the Naval research Laboratory during his 30-year government career.

He joined Acquisition Solutions, a research and consulting group, as a principal last week.
