FCC online filing systems will be shut down this weekend

The Federal Communications Commission will take most of its electronic filing systems offline and telecommunications will be interrupted during the coming weekend while maintenance work is done at the commission's headquarters in Washington.

Power to the building housing servers and other equipment will be interrupted while work is being done, and systems will be shut down between 9 p.m. EST Friday, April 5, and 1 p.m. EDT Sunday, April 7. In addition to 17 of 20 FCC filing systems, the Web site at www.fcc.com and online databases will be unavailable, telephone service will be interrupted and e-mail sent during this time will be queued for delivery when systems are restored.

Filing systems not scheduled to be interrupted are the FCC Network Infrastructure, the General Menu Reports, and Remittance Over Secure Internet sites. Status of the filing systems can be checked after 1 p.m. Sunday at www.fcc.gov/e-file.
