Air Force panel will scrutinize software issues

SALT LAKE CITY'The Air Force has established a panel to review software concerns and help create software policies.

The service's CIO, John Gilligan, is the chairman of the Software Steering Group. He announced the panel last week at the service's Software Technology Conference.

The new panel also includes three high-level commanders: Lt. Gen. Leslie F. Kenne, newly named deputy chief for warfighter integration; Lt. Gen. Michael E. Zettler, deputy chief of staff for installation and logistics; and Lt. Gen. Charles Wald, deputy chief of staff for air and space operations.

Gilligan said other command chiefs also will participate on an as-needed basis. The group has drafted its charter, which it hopes to finalize this summer, Gilligan said.
