Government and industry executives held forth last week on the opportunities for women in the IT field at a breakfast session presented by Women in Technology and held at the Agriculture Department's Jamie L. Whitten Building in Washington.

Michele G. Heffner, director of interagency IT strategies for the General Services Administration's Office of Governmentwide Policy; Linda Massaro, CIO of the National Science Foundation; and Leslie Barry, of Computer Sciences Corp.'s federal sector; swap stories.



Anne Thomson Reed, former Agriculture CIO and now an executive with Electronic Data Systems Corp., delivers a speech to open the event.
