A hard look at software

Several hundred civilian and uniformed software engineers and program managers gathered recently in Salt Lake City for the 14th annual Software Technology Conference. Getting ready to take the stage for a high-level panel discussion are, left to right: Lt. Gen. Peter Cuviello, Army CIO; [IMGCAP(1)] Debra Filippi, Marine Corps deputy director for command, control, communications and computers, and deputy CIO; Rear Adm. Tom S. Fellin, vice commander of the Space and Naval Warfare Command; Diann McCoy, the Defense Information Systems Agency's principal director for application engineering; John Gilligan, Air Force CIO; and Dawn C. Meyerriecks, DISA's chief technology officer, who moderated the discussion.

The conference was co-sponsored by the armed services and DISA, and co-hosted by the Ogden Air Logistics Center and the Air Force Software Technology Support Center.
