OPM will host second IT job fair in August

Agencies liked the virtual IT job fair in April so much that they are calling for a second one later this summer.

At a recent meeting of the CIO Council, Mark Forman, the Office of Management and Budget's associate director for IT and e-government, recommended that the council and Office of Personnel Management host a second fair.

The next fair, in August, would add jobs at the GS-14 and GS-15 levels. The first job fair was for GS-13 positions and below, but some agencies said they need to fill positions at the higher end of the federal pay scale.

The April job fair attracted more than 19,000 applicants. OPM said agencies extended job offers to 76 candidates, 53 of whom have accepted positions.
