The General Services Administration and the IT Industry Council have released a set of best practices to help vendors fill out a template that highlights the accessible features of their products.

GSA and ITIC developed the Voluntary Product Accessibility Template in August and outlined the basic guidelines for the template's use. The best practices ensure the forms are filled out consistently so contracting officers can compare products more easily. Vendors link their completed forms to GSA's Buy Accessible Web site, at www.section508.gov/index.cfm?FuseAction=Content&ID=2.

The VPAT template can be found at www.itic.org/policy/508/vpat.html, and the best practices at www.itic.org/policy/508/Sec508.html.
