Informatica data product goes real-time

Informatica Corp. has added real-time functions to one of its data integration products. PowerCenterRT can combine real-time data from transactional applications with static information from data warehouses and legacy systems, said Diaz Nesamony, president and chief operating officer of the Redwood City, Calif., company.

PowerCenter operates in batch mode, but the new version can handle rapidly arriving data, Nesamony said. The software has adapters for most commercial database and enterprise resource planning applications on Microsoft Windows and Unix platforms, Nesamony said.

Prices start at $200,000 for a four-CPU system. The cost depends on the size of the host and the number of data sources it taps.
