Sub deal. The Naval Sea Systems Command has awarded a 10-year, $392 million systems support contract to Perot Systems Corp. of Plano, Texas. Perot Systems will provide program, logistics, financial management and engineering services to the NAVSEA Submarine Directorate in Washington.

The work will include submarine depot maintenance and work on Trident strategic subs and attack subs, deep-submergence programs, logistics and training systems.

Jim Ballard, director of government services at Perot Systems, said the contract services include complete lifecycle maintenance to make sure the submarines are working.

Modernization upkeep. The Army has awarded a $36 million contract to SI International Inc. to support the service as it modernizes its civilian personnel systems. Under the five-year contract, the McLean, Va., company will provide network management, systems administration, applications design, testing and information security.

The Army's Office of the Assistant for Civilian Personnel Policy awarded the contract through a governmentwide pact managed by the Transportation Department's Technology User Service Program Office.

The Army office, which oversees programs that affect Army civilian employees, is running several data consolidation and modernization initiatives.
