IRMCO recognizes individual, team work

The efforts of Janice Haith, an Air Force division chief for plans, programs and resources, and the Social Security Administration Inspector General Office's World Trade Center response team, New York field division, today were honored by the Interagency Resources Management Council.

IRMCO gave Haith its 2002 individual achievement award for her work on the Defense Department's Joint Adjudication System. The system lets DOD and Office of Personnel Management security personnel use unclassified networks to access and conduct two-way security data exchanges.

Haith helped deliver the project on time and within its $63 million budget, and has moved the system forward to cut down the time it takes to review law enforcement credit records in real time.

SSA's IG office received the 2002 team achievement award for its part in rescue work during the World Trade Center disasters. The team researched and shared agency database information on the hijackers and their associates, individuals on the FBI's terrorist watch list and others.

The team also worked to make sure benefits applications were filled out correctly and helped the New York police find people who were missing in the attack. The team did all this without access to their offices, networks, computers and databases.
