GSA taps DynCorp for $867 million EPA pact

The General Services Administration has awarded an $867 million, seven-year task order to DynCorp Systems and Solutions LLC to provide IT services to the Environmental Protection Agency.

The Federal Systems Integration and Management Center awarded the task order through GSA's Millenia contract. The order with the Reston, Va., company has one base year and six option years.

Mark Day, EPA's deputy CIO for technology, said the order would include data center operations, high-performance computing services, Web hosting and development, LAN and WAN support, and security services.

The unsuccessful bidders were Computer Sciences Corp., Lockheed Martin Corp., Northrop Grumman Corp. and Raytheon Co.

'DynCorp had a very aggressive performance-based approach in its bid,' Day said. 'It was innovative and responsive to our bid request.'
