Labor renews $59 million CSC contract

The Labor Department issued a task order to Computer Sciences Corp. for continued support of its black lung program, the company said. The task order could amount to $59 million if the department exercises all its options during the one-year base period and four option years.

Labor issued the task order through the National Institutes of Health's governmentwide CIO Solutions and Partners 2 contract, CSC said.

Under the task order, CSC will provide IT support and services for the Federal Black Lung Program's Automated Support Package and the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program's Medical Bill Payment System. Both programs process benefit claims for illnesses caused by working in mines. CSC has provided IT support to the programs since 1985.
