OPM lets employees compare health plans online

The Office of Personnel Management is giving workers who are enrolled in the Federal Employees Health Benefits program the ability to compare national and local health plans online.

The agency gave the Web site at www.opm.gov/insure/health a face-lift, making it possible for visitors to access health plan information easier than before.

Enrollees can enter their ZIP codes to tap files that will let them compare health plans, premiums, deductibles and benefits.

The newly augmented site also includes a link for federal retirees to:

  • make online open-season changes

  • peruse a more comprehensive set of frequently asked questions

  • read online versions of the program's handbook and brochure.
