Browning joins Booz Allen

Miriam F. Browning, former director of enterprise integration in the Army's CIO Office

Miriam F. Browning, who retired last year as director of enterprise integration in the Army's CIO Office, has joined the consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton.

Browning, with more than 35 years of experience in public and private sectors, will work in a new Booz Allen federal defense systems team that is being formed and is expected to be in place by spring.

Her appointment as a principal in the privately held company was announced Monday.

'Corporations are always transforming themselves,' she said. 'Booz Allen is going to a much more kind of collaborative environment.'

While with the Army, she was credited with championing the Army Knowledge Online portal. Browning, 56, was director of the Center for Information Management at the National Academy of Public Administration before joining the Army.

Last October, she was inducted into the GCN Hall of Fame at the newsmagazine's annual awards gala.

Booz Allen is a $2.1 billion global management and technology consulting company in McLean, Va.
