Out with the old name, in with MPC

To lessen confusion with its original parent company, computer maker MicronPC LLC is changing its name to MPC Computers.

The Nampa, Idaho, company, which sells PCs, notebook computers and servers for government and business, made the announcement last month. Originally a unit of memory manufacturer Micron Technology Inc. of Boise, Idaho, MicronPC was acquired in 2001 by the privately held Gores Technology Group of Los Angeles.

MicronPC sells IT products and services to the Veterans Affairs Department and several other agencies.
