New Trail Bossprogram rides in from sunset

A group of current and former government IT managers is working to revive the General Services Administration's Trail Boss program.

The new program, to be known as Trail Boss New Horizons, would bring IT officials together to share ideas on policy, procurement, planning and program implementation.

A kickoff announcement is expected at the FOSE conference in Washington in April. The working committee for this project is led by former federal IT official Kay Ely, now with Acquisition Solutions Inc. of Oakton, Va., and Ian Rothwell, a senior project manager in the CIO office of Canada's Treasury Board.
