The Office of Personnel Management today launched a new Web site for students who apply for federal education funds. The e-Scholar site, linked to OPM's USAJobs employment portal, lists more than $400 million in scholarships, fellowships, grants, internships and cooperative programs.
OPM director Kay Coles James said she hopes the site will connect students to federal career opportunities.
'Within a few short years, a tremendous amount of knowledge will be gone because of retirements,' James said. 'We need to minimize that by encouraging a new generation of leaders to work for the federal government. This Web site will provide more exposure to the education opportunities available from the federal government.'
E-Scholar will list funding opportunities for students who want to go to school in the United States as well as abroad.
