Mike Lazaridis, president and Co-CEO of Research In Motion (RIM), discussed the application of wireless technology in government at a Thursday keynote address. His company developed the popular BlackBerry handheld, which has found wide acceptance in government and was commonly mentioned by former Vice President Al Gore.

As FOSE exhibitors packed to leave after a three-day run ended Thursday, a new set of exhibitors rolled into town for the next event in the not-quite-completed Washington Convention Center. Visitors to the FOSE show seemed generally pleased at the state of the new meeting center, however, and lauded the staff's efforts to fix the minor problems that occurred.
