Free listings for open-source project guide

A new directory will list agencies working on open-source software projects or policies governing such projects.

The Open Source Resource Book 2003 will show who's doing what, said Tony Stanco, director of the Center of Open Source and Government in Washington. The listings are free.

Representatives of federal agencies and national laboratories can go to www.egovos.org/ref_book.html to complete an online questionnaire for a listing.

The deadline for submitting a listing is May 31.

Stanco said the directory will come out in November at the third Open Source in Government conference in Paris and will be updated annually.
