MPC throws its hat into the storage market

Desktop and notebook PC maker MPC Computers LLC, formerly MicronPC, last week entered the external storage market with the DataFrame 310fc RAID device for Fibre Channel environments and the DataFrame 310s hot-swap SCSI unit.

The DataFrame 310fc scales up to 112 drives and 16T of storage and can house 14 drive bays, each ranging up to just more than 2T. Storage capacity can reach 16.6T with the addition of seven storage expansion units. It's priced at $15,999.

Smaller in scale, the $5,999 310s has up to 14 Ultra320 SCSI drives and 2T of storage.
