Help desk consolidation: Under its common services project, Energy plans to consolidate the 18 help desks throughout its headquarters into one.

Web content management project: The department plans to coordinate the design and presence of its Web sites and consolidate its development activities. With the assistance of contractor Brook Group Ltd. of Ellicott City, Md., Energy will automate the Web content development process.

IManage project: The effort is a second-generation enterprise resource planning project using Oracle financial software to manage human resources, procurement and other functions. IManage replaces an earlier system known as the Business Management Information System/Phoenix that was focused around the department's core accounting system.

Enterprise Architecture: Energy has made significant progress in developing the four layers of an enterprise architecture'business, data, application and technology'and in integrating the architecture into the organization, according to OMB.
