Ohio will not provide a searchable database of residents eligible for marriage to those with lonely hearts yearning for lifelong companions'at least not yet.
But for residents who have found soul mates, the state has launched a Web database of ministers licensed to solemnize marriage, available at www.state.oh.us/sos
. The database lists ministers of various faiths whom the state has authorized to perform such ceremonies. Users can search the database by first name, last name and city.
Others authorized to perform marriages in Ohio include judges, mayors and superintendents of state schools for the deaf. On the site, Ohio officials caution, 'Data provided in searches are for informational purposes only.'
A quick series of searches revealed the database includes 56 ministers with the last name of Love, 56 named Wise, three named Fearing'and one named Breedwell.
