USDA awards CSC e-learning, management contract

The Agriculture Department's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service has awarded Computer Sciences Corp. a contract for project management, analytical and technical assistance in e-learning, and knowledge management.

The five-year award, which expands CSC's seven-year relationship with USDA, is valued at $11 million if all options are exercised.

The inspection agency administers the Animal Welfare Act and carries out wildlife damage management activities. In recent years, its protection function has expanded to global agriculture by responding to other countries' animal and plant health
import requirements and negotiating science-based standards.

CSC's training center will support the contract with its knowledge support system software and training products.
