Advanced IT services in demand at DOD

The Advanced Information Technology Services Joint Program Office this week issued a request for proposals for leading-edge IT services and program management expertise.

The Coalition and Advanced IT Integration and Operations RFP, published July 22, has a Sept. 4 closing date.

The advanced IT services include:

  • Program management


  • Operations, maintenance and security for integration environments


  • Technology insertion and transition technical support for allied and coalition networks, including the Defense Information System Network-Leading Edge Services, the Coalition Wide Area Network, the Combined Federated Battle Lab Network and the Joint Warfighter Interoperability Demonstrations


  • Site installation and integration, demonstrations, exercises, help desk and training


  • Inventory management and acquisition of hardware and software


  • Change control for networks, systems and applications


  • Information and network security.


  • AITS-JPO's mission is the rapid transfer of advanced IT from the research and experimentation phases through pilots to full-scale deployments.

    The program was established by the Joint Staff director for command, control, communications and computers, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency and the Defense Information Systems Agency.
