The Food and Drug Administration has a new deputy systems chief. Margo Burnette, a former Maryland network administrator, today began her job as deputy director in FDA's Office of IT.
Burnette has experience leading and managing multiple projects and large, complex programs, said Linda Burek, IT director for FDA.
Burek also noted that Burnette has two decades of business and IT experience, 12 years of it with the federal government. Most recently, she managed Maryland's state government network.
Among her other positions, she coordinated the network migration of the telecommunications billing system across 45 international locations for a telecommunications company. At the Agriculture Department, Burnette managed systems for 100 offices throughout North Carolina.
