DOD awards contract for network support, services

The Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs awarded a contract potentially worth $38 million to Anteon International Corp. today for IT and engineering services.

Under the contract, which is for five base years plus four option years, Anteon will offer software support for the Defense Department's worldwide customer base and users.

The work will take place at several Defense sites, according to company officials.

The support falls under three areas: applications, operations and enterprise services.

The work includes network customer support, information systems security and information assurance, application development, help desk support, Web development, and data network infrastructure management, according to a company release.
