The lowdown on a cellular PC
What is it? A cellular PC Card lets you connect notebook PCs and personal digital assistants to the Internet via a cell phone connection.
What are the advantages? You get a broader coverage area than with WiFi; you don't need to find a hot spot to check your e-mail.
What are the disadvantages? Lower data transmission speeds than WiFi, and you lose your excuse to visit Starbucks.
Must-know information? Select a cellular PC Card only after choosing a cellular provider and level of service. The card must be compatible with the cellular provider's network or it is useless.
