USDA seeks help with technology planning

The Agriculture Department will look to its customers, vendors and employees as it plans and implements technology.

The department today published a notice in the Federal Register that early next year it will establish a Technology and E-Government Advisory Council. The council will advise Agriculture's CIO Office on how to improve operations and planning for technology and e-government projects.

The department plans for the nine-member panel to meet quarterly to discuss USDA technology issues.

Agriculture will begin accepting nominations for the council Nov. 15. Nominations must be submitted by Jan. 15. For more information, call 202-720-8833 or send an e-mail to adrienne.bowman@usda.gov .
