App helps automate migration to NMCI

EDS Corp., lead contractor for the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet, recently deployed an application management software suite to help users migrate to the NMCI portal and to manage security in moving databases to Microsoft products.

Quest Software Inc. of Irvine, Calif., a subcontractor under EDS, has deployed its Microsoft Infrastructure Management products in the NMCI program. EDS has customized many of Quest's software products to ensure security for the project's migration, company officials said.

Some of Quest's applications deployed on NMCI include FastLane Reporter and FastLane ActiveRoles, which are being used to automate the migration process as well as manage the performance of Microsoft Windows, Exchange and Active Directory, officials said.

The products also help enforce service-level security requirements at the three NMCI Network Operations Centers.
