NASCIO releases online library, new report on state CIOs

State, federal and other CIOs now can search for best-practices guides, issue briefs and other technology information through a new online resource library launched by the National Association of State CIOs.

The Strategic Materials and Resources Tool gives NASCIO members information on enterprise architecture, e-commerce, funding models, communications technology, privacy, procurement and security.

'SMART is a comprehensive clearinghouse from multiple sources of information that will serve as an excellent network of resources for state CIOs and other NASCIO members,' said Gerry Wethington, NASCIO president and Missouri CIO.

NASCIO plans on adding private-sector information as well.

The association also today began making available a new survey of CIOs in 42 states and the District of Columbia. NASCIO is selling the report, which profiles state CIOs and their executive IT authority, privacy and security policies, and upcoming priorities. To order the report, go to https://www.nascio.org/publications/index.cfm.
