Awards honor women leaders' IT contributions

Four women were honored for their leadership roles in government recently at a Washington reception sponsored by Accenture Ltd.
Donna M. Peak, center, vice president of finance and controller for the Postal Service, accepts her Government Visionary award from Kathleen Matthews, left, of Washington television station WJLA ABC7, and Accenture's Linda Singh.

Peak, who led the re-engineering of several postal information systems, was one of two winners of the award. The other was Coast Guard Rear Adm. Joyce Johnson, director of health and safety.
Jennifer Sheehy, special assistant in the Education Department's Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services, won the Rising Government Leader award.

Angela Drummond, founder and chief executive of SiloSmashers Inc. of Vienna, Va., received the Small Business Icon award.
