JFMIP certifies PeopleSoft app

The Joint Financial Management Improvement Program has certified PeopleSoft Enterprise Financial Management Solutions 8.8 for use as a core federal financial application.

FMS 8.8, from PeopleSoft Inc. of Pleasanton, Calif., is the fifth such application to gain JFMIP certification under the most recent qualification test, which went into effect last year.

The browser-based app, released seven weeks ago, handles electronic submission of reports, automated adjustment of transactions and reimbursable agreements. Previous versions of PeopleSoft financial software also held JFMIP certification.

The interagency JFMIP sets standards for core financial management applications. Its certifications are valid for three years.

Other vendors that offer JFMIP-certified software are American Management Systems Inc. of Fairfax, Va.; Digital Systems Group Inc. of Warminster, Pa.; Oracle Corp.; and SAP Public Services Inc. of Washington.
