DOD's James ships out to private sector

A veteran Defense Department IT manager has joined SI International Inc. of Reston, Va., as senior vice president of Defense and Intelligence Business Development.

Bill James spent 23 years in the federal civil service, including a stint in the Senior Executive Service for the Air Force as well as serving as the Air Force's former director of CIO support for architecture and technology.

Before working in the Pentagon, James served five years at the U.S. Transportation Command at Scott Air Force Base, Ill. At the command, he was the technical director for the J6'command, control, communications and computers directorate.

James will be responsible for developing the company's presence in the defense and intelligence markets.
