OMB task groups will analyze HR and financial IT

ORLANDO, Fla.'The Office of Management and Budget has formed two task groups to study ways for the government to consolidate human resources and financial systems.

The groups stem from OMB plans laid out in the administration's responses to agencies' fiscal 2005 budget submissions. OMB expects to reduce the funding allotted to financial and HR systems by eliminating duplicative systems.

The goal of the groups' studies is to get beyond the obvious and provoke discussion about new opportunities for better ways to work, said Karen Evans, OMB's administrator for e-government and IT.
