Air Force awards $800m IT support contract

The Air Force has awarded an $800 million contract to SI International Inc. of Reston, Va., for a hodgepodge of IT services and equipment.

SI will provide IT support to numerous air organizations under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, which runs through September 2007.

The support includes design, engineering, integration, equipment and materials, installation and testing, and operations and maintenance to a wide range of command, control, communications, computer, intelligence, IT, surveillance, and reconnaissance engineering and technical support systems throughout the world.

Some of the agencies being supported under the contract are the Air Force Space Command, United States Strategic Command, North American Aerospace Defense Command and United States Northern Command.
