Army taps vendor for assist at logistics center

The Army's Communications and Electronics Command has awarded a $7 million task order to NCI Information Systems Inc. to support the Logistics and Readiness Center.

Under the five-year order, the Reston, Va., company will provide technical support to the Fort Monmouth, N.J., center.

The order was placed against NCI's IT Enterprise Solutions contract. The ITES program, which the Army Small Computer Program runs, is part of a larger service initiative to consolidate systems under a common enterprise architecture.

NCI and subcontractor Multimax Inc. of Largo, Md., will install and maintain the center's LAN, hardware and software, and information assurance.

Additionally, the pair of vendors will assist Army personnel who must design and implement IT infrastructure and management programs for the logistics systems run by the center.
