The General Services Administration late last month issued a request for proposals for a new Federal Business Opportunities system.
According to the RFP, GSA will award a fixed-price incentive contract to a small business by Aug. 25 for development and management of a new system.
The final option year of the current contract expires Sept. 30. The current contract is held by a large business, Science Applications International Corp. of San Diego.
The new contract will be for three years with five one-year options, according to the RFP.
The current system is a Web-based application. Contractors can propose an entirely new system or one that builds upon the current system. The new system must be implemented by Feb. 6, 2005.
