William M. McGrane, a computer systems specialist at the Defense Information Systems Agency, got his first paying job at age 15 directing a choir. He still directs, sings with the Master Chorale of Washington, and operates a production studio at home. 'I enjoy watching my 9-year-old son write music on the computer,' he says. 'He has way more talent than I did at his age.'
