Air Force IT shop gets new chief

MONTGOMERY, Ala.'The Air Force Standard Systems Group, which supports the service's IT operations, will be getting a new chief, one of two changes announced for the office at the Air Force IT Conference.

Frank Weber, who took over as the executive director of the group in August 2002, today confirmed that he will leave the post.

Weber will become the wing director for operations systems support at Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass.

Col. Vic Jevsever will take over as the acting executive director of SSG. No schedule has been announced for Weber's departure.

Also, the group is getting a new director of acquisition, Matthew Benavides. He had been deputy director of Air Force acquisition for small businesses, based in Washington.
