Five lines-of-business projects are under way

Finance and human resources are two of five lines-of-business consolidation efforts.

The other three are case management, grants processing and health care.

For the case management project, the Office of Management and Budget and the Justice and Homeland Security departments last week released a request for information about software to support case leads, evidence, resource allocation, document handling, federal records management and workflow as well as intelligence processing.

Responses are due by Oct. 12. To view the RFI, go to www.gcn.com and enter 297 in the GCN.com/box.

The system, which would compile 100 million text documents, must support worldwide use by intelligence agencies, including more than 90,000 FBI staff members.

For the grants effort, a task force is soliciting comments on a business case for a consolidated back-office management system. And a team is working on standards and an enterprise architecture for health care systems.
