Social Security awards $525 million IT services contract to Lockheed Martin

The Social Security Administration awarded Lockheed Martin Corp. a $525 million contract today for IT support services for the agency's systems modernization.
The Agency Wide Support Services Contract is a new contract but continues work the contractor currently performs under its Enterprise Technology Services Contract with the agency.
Under the seven-year contract, Lockheed Martin will provide support in application design, development, testing, and maintenance; database administration and imaging and document management; data administration and programmatic repository and enterprise architecture; software engineering and technology; emerging technology applications; and software engineering management.
Lockheed Martin is the lead contractor. Other vendors include:
- Global Commerce and Information of Columbia, Md.
- Pointe Technology Group Inc. of Landover, Md.
- Computer Programs and Systems Inc. of Baltimore
- RS Information Systems Inc. of McLean, Va.
- ESS of Frederick, Md.
- Apptis Inc. of Chantilly, Va.
- SM Consulting Inc. of Linthicum, Md.
- BAE Systems Information Technology (DigitalNet) of McLean, Va.
