GSA taps regional administrator as fill-in chief of staff

The General Services Administration today named Edwin E. Fielder acting chief of staff; the administrator of GSA's Southeast and Sunbelt region will also serve as acting interim chief acquisition officer.

Fielder will step in for Karl Reichelt, who announced this month that he's leaving government for industry [see GCN story].

As a regional administrator, Fielder oversees GSA operations supporting federal agencies in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.

Before coming to GSA, Fielder worked for CB Richard Ellis Inc. of Los Angeles, a commercial real estate development company. He also served in the Marine Corps for more than two decades, working as a logistics officer and retiring as a lieutenant colonel.
