Virtual Space: Now hear this'

Croak! Who goes there?

The Geological Survey needs you and your keen ability to identify frog calls. As part of an effort to evaluate frog populations, USGS recently launched its Frog Call Quiz Web site, where qualified volunteers can ID frogs they've heard and submit reports. Two years in the making (that's the tadpole stage of some northern bullfrogs) and chock-full of 1,700 Real Audio-formatted frog calls, the site also has a public area where anyone can listen to the soothing sounds of frogs greeting frogs. Visit www.gcn.com and enter 335 in the GCN.com/box.
