Former GSA appointee Reichelt joins lobbying firm

Former General Services Administration chief of staff and acting chief acquisition officer Karl Reichelt joined Washington law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP as a director of federal marketing, the company said.

Reichelt, who started today, will help vendors work with agencies, including GSA and its assortment of schedules and multiple award contracts.

Reichelt left GSA Dec. 31 after about a year with the agency. He spent the previous 12 years in public service, working as regional administrator for GSA's Northeast and Caribbean regions, and in New York Gov. George Pataki's administration.

'Karl is a hands-on professional who has overseen billions of dollars in transactions and is a great addition to our growing federal marketing team,' said Fred Baggett, chairman of Greenberg Traurig's national governmental affairs practice group. 'His addition, in turn, will strengthen our national governmental affairs practice.'

Greenberg Traurig is the 8th largest law firm in the world, but its federal marketing group opened shop last May.
