New HUD IT chief to start Monday

Lisa Schlosser will take over as CIO for the Housing and Urban Development Department on Monday.

Schlosser will leave her post as associate CIO for IT investment management at the Transportation Department. Since joining DOT in 2001, she has also been in charge of IT security.

She was Transportation's first senior-level IT security official and an early advocate of integrating IT security into lines of business, such as capital planning and investment, human resources and procurement. Darren Ash, deputy associate CIO for IT investment management, will assume her position until Transportation names a permanent replacement.

Prior to Transportation, Schlosser worked in IT security for public and private organizations, including at Global Integrity Corp., Reston, Va., a subsidiary of Science Applications International Corp., San Diego, Calif.

She received her bachelor's degree in political science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a master's in administration from Central Michigan University, Mount Pleasant, Mich.

Schlosser replaces acting HUD CIO Darlene Williams. Williams today became general deputy assistant secretary for administration, a HUD spokesman said. Vickers Meadows had been CIO until December.
